Victory Column, Berlin

¿Por qué se llama así? Ni porque es de oro, ni porque está por encima del resto (quiero creer). La llaman así porque se encuentra en ese punto desde el cual puede ver la realidad en conjunto, con perspectiva. Ni más pequeña ni más grande. Sólo mejor orientada.

Why is it called under that name? Not because it is made of gold, nor because it is set above the rest (I’d like to believe). It’s called that way because it stands in that point from where it has a holistic view of reality. Not smaller nor bigger. Simply better oriented.

Checkpoint Charlie, Friedrichstraße.

Otro artístico Trabant clásico, a la puerta de Checkpoint Charlie. Hasta 1990, el paso fronterizo más famoso separando el lado este y el oeste del muro de Berlin. Hoy en día queda el barrio de Mitte a un lado y Kreuzberg al otro.

Another artsy classic Trabant, right in front of Checkpoint Charlie. Until 1990, the best known crossing point separating east and west Berlin. Today, we can find Mitte borough on the one side and Kreuzberg on the other.

Pisadísima pero increíble pieza de Birgit Kinder. De verdad que parece que este Trabant vaya a salir disparado del muro.

Incredible piece by Birgit Kinder, although it is already quite capped. It really looks as if the Trabant were going to fly off through the wall.

Horizonte espectacular de Berlin desde la cima de la Columna de la Victoria, con la famosa Torre de la TV a la izquierda, la Puerta de Brandenburgo justo en frente y el Tiergarten rodeando la columna en todas direcciones.

Berlin’s amazing skyline, seen from the top of the Victory Column. The famous TV tower rising from the left side, the Brandenburg Gate right in front of us and the vast Tiergarten sorrounding the Column.

En Street Art Allee, Berlin, no sólo reciclan las paredes. En esta pequeña terraza escondida al final del callejón hasta la basura de ayer puede transformarse en algo más, parte de la galería.

In Street Art Alley, Berlin, not only walls can be recycled. This small terrace in the end of the alley has developed the ability to transform everything, even yesterday trash, into something else.
